Better care across borders
The GMS Border Areas Health Project helps border communities and migrant workers access better healthcare in Champasak, Phongsali, and Savannakhet.
Three priorities
- Better hospitals: improve five hospitals and provide modern medical equipment.
- Care for women and migrants: support women, migrant workers, and upland ethnic communities.
- Digital health records: introduce electronic patient records in 11 hospitals to support continued care.
Who leads the project?
The Lao PDR Ministry of Health implements the project with financing from the Asian Development Bank. The total budget is $24.95 million, with completion targeted for 2029.
